Hello, dear author or artist! I'm Anabel. This is my first time doing Rare Femslash Exchange -- I'm so psyched that we share one of these fandoms, and I'm so excited to see what you create! :)

What I most love to see in fic and art is people who are happy, or in the process of becoming happy. This could mean having adventures, or falling in love, or being fulfilled in their career, or snuggling in bed with their partner, or fighting supervillains. Or perhaps all of these things in the same fanwork! This doesn’t necessarily mean unrelieved fluff – I’m a big fan of plot, smut, and adventures as well – but a focus on a character’s melancholy inner doubts (for instance), or on infidelity and betrayal and pain, wouldn’t appeal to me. I am absolutely addicted to happy endings. (Or "happy for now," in canons where outright happy endings are implausible!)

SMUT LIKES:

• Most important: that everyone is having a helluva good time and fully consenting.
• Couples who are friends as well as lovers. Friendly banter, cuddling, just the general sense that both really like each other as well as wanting to tear each other’s clothes off.
• People who can't stay quiet during sex; dirty talk, moaning, little cut-off noises, reverent invocation of the lover’s name, distracted chattering, all of it!
• Women taking the lead in bed, anywhere on the spectrum between just In Charge to all the way femdom.
• Morning cuddles and/or sex.
• Silly/fun sex roleplaying, from simple to elaborate.
• One partner reading to the other one in bed, which eventually gets abandoned in favor of sex.
• Eager cunnilingus – a giver who is not only super into it for their partner’s sake, but super turned on by the experience of giving it.

Anything and everything! I know that’s probably not really helpful, but as someone who can only draw stick figures, I am in awe at all artists and enjoy everything you create. :)

I have no ratings restrictions. I particularly enjoy moments full of affection and joy. Kisses, cuddling, hugs, smut, moments of emotional intimacy with women staring into each other’s faces, women proposing or getting married, a woman cupping her lover’s face in her hands or stroking her lover’s cheeks – all of these would be lovely.

My Requested Ship: Janet Kim/OFC

I love Janet! I have similar feelings in regards to her as I do to Jung, in that I feel that the show held them back and kind of had them stagnate in the final seasons. I would love to see Janet blossom and find happiness with a girlfriend! (And in her professional life and/or friendships as well! See my comments about my greatest love being characters who are happy or in the process of becoming happy.) ♥

For this fandom, my favorite characters are the Kim family and Kimchee. I am not a big fan of Gerald and Chelsea, and would prefer them to appear as little as possible. I do quite like Semira though! (And if you wanted to write Janet/Semira instead of making an OFC, I’d be okay with that too!) I particularly enjoy Janet’s relationships with each of her family members. (As far as a background ship for Jung goes, I’m fine with both Jung/Shannon and Jung/Kimchee as long as it’s a happy relationship.)

Some specific prompts:

• Janet’s first date with a girl who gives her all the right kind of butterflies.
• Janet’s worried about her family finding out about her girlfriend – who she adores – but one of them does and is super supportive (that support might look different depending on which family member it is!)
• Successful-photographer Janet brings her girlfriend as her plus one to Jung’s wedding, and looks back on how her life has changed over the last five years.
• Janet & her girlfriend on a double-date with Jung/Kimchee or Jung/Shannon.
• Janet and her girlfriend cook together! Bonus points if it’s a cross-cultural relationship and their dinner is a bit mismatched, because I love that.
• Umma finds out that Janet’s partner ticks all the boxes of “cool Christian Korean boy” except for the last one, and decides that perhaps it’s not all that important after all.
• Five disastrous first dates Janet goes on, and one that’s perfect.
• Some kind of miscommunication happens, and all the Kims think that Janet is dating her best friend. She’s not! But…maybe they’re seeing something she’s not?

Fandom 2: Lord Peter Wimsey
My Requested Ships: Harriet Vane/F!Peter Wimsey, Harriet Vane/Woman Accused of Murder She Intends to Clear

Harriet is one of my favorite characters in all of fiction. Harriet Walter is “my” Harriet, but I love book!Harriet as well! I would love to read a book about her finding happiness in an unexpected quarter, whether that be with F!Peter or with a woman who’s in the same position Harriet was in Strong Poison.

For F!Peter, I am, as always, equally happy with Peter being trans or cis. Either way, I think her experiences as a woman would change some of her perspectives on the world, and I’d be interested to read more about how they did! (Please no onscreen transphobia.)

If you write Harriet/Accused Murderer, I’m happy to have Peter appear as a background character/consulting detective/Harriet’s supportive friend. In that case she could still be a woman, or be the traditional Peter if you’d rather.

Specific prompts:

• Peter’s actions in Strong Poison change because of her experiences as a woman, and she doesn’t come on so strongly. How does she woo Harriet instead?
• Peter and Harriet work a case together, using their ‘harmlessness’ as two women to camouflage their investigation.
• The first time Peter and Harriet’s relationship turns from mild, deniable flirtation into something more serious.
• Peter and Harriet have been dating for six months, and it’s still new and fizzy. They take on a new case in St Mary Mead, and encounter an old lady who seems disconcertingly sharp, and might just ferret out the truth behind their friendship…
• Peter and Harriet’s first kiss!
• Gaudy Night AU in which Peter is a professor at the college and falls in love with Harriet while helping her solve the case.
• How does Harriet’s experience under trial help her support and/or vindicate the woman she’s falling in love with?
• Has the woman been framed for murder because she’s dating Harriet and someone wants to hurt Harriet?
• Five clues Harriet thinks might free the woman she loves, and the one that finally does.
• Harriet and her lover’s first kiss, after Harriet proves her innocent.
• Harriet doesn’t know the accused murderer, but she hears about the travesty of justice underway and jumps into the efforts to vindicate her. But along the way she finds herself falling in love…

Please no twist ending in which the accused murderer turns out to be an actual murderer.

Fandom 3: MCU
My Requested Ships: Katy Chen/Xu Xialing, Katy Chen/F!Xu Shang-Chi, Katy Chen/OFC, Xu Xialing/OFC

Shang-Chi was hands-down my favorite new canon of 2021, and it’s my favorite all-time movie at this point. I flat-out adore Katy, Xialing, and Shang-Chi, and their relationships with each other. Any of the ships I requested will make me very happy!

For F!Shang-Chi (and the OFCs), I am, as always, equally happy with Shang-Chi being trans or cis. Either way, I think her experiences as a woman would change some of her perspectives on the world, and I’d be interested to read more about how they did! (Please no onscreen transphobia.)

In general, I will always eat up tropes/scenarios like friends-to-lovers, first kisses, and first times. I could read about 5000 of them for the exact same ship and never grow tired of reading about how a couple fell in love and got together for the first time. But I also love other things for these ships, and am super into playfulness, affection, ships having canon-style adventures, established relationships, and off-the-wall crossovers (want to have the Thirteenth Doctor show up while Katy & Xialing are visiting Ta Lo for their one-year anniversary? Be my guest!)

Basically, for these ships what I am craving most is tonal – affection, humor, warmth, joy, playfulness, falling in love/being in love, happiness. Anything you can think of that fits in those tones would be fantastically fabulous! Feel free to play with format, tense, nonlinear narratives, epistolary fic, or any other non-standard creative choices your heart desires.

Some specific prompts:

• If you write porn, I would love love love smut for any of these pairings! See my smut likes for more specific smut prompts. If you’re writing one or more trans characters, I have no trans-related DNWs in regards to sex except for a focus on dysphoria.
• First kisses will always give me life! Whether played sweet, romantic, full of sexual tension, affectionate, silly, accidental, undercover-for-job-reasons, however it goes, I am a sucker for kisses!
• Shang-Chi and Xialing are sisters. Without a son to train, Wenwu trains them both. How do they meet Katy? Who falls in love with her? (Or is this a story about Xialing falling in love with an OFC?)
• Shang-Chi embraces her identity while in high school. Although everyone in San Francisco accepts her, she’s worried about how her father and sister will react during the course of the film. However, they might surprise her! (My headcanon is that Wenwu has seen everything over the course of his thousand years, and this doesn’t even faze him. He has other things he’s disappointed in Shang-Chi about. If this doesn’t ring true for you, that’s fine! Please just have Xialing’s reaction then – transphobia will ruin any story for me.)
• Canon-style adventures set after the movie with any of my requested ships! What Avengers missions might they go on? What is dealing with the media like? What is it like for Katy, being the First Lesbian Avenger? (As she was dubbed after getting papped with her girlfriend after a mission.) Does Xialing propose to Katy after a complicated Avengers-style world-threatening event in which the Ten Rings organization had to help the Avengers save the world? Feel free to incorporate other Avengers or MCU characters – I’d prefer they be women though.
• Any canon-divergence AU ideas you have! Shang-Chi refused to train, and Xialing is the one who Wenwu trained, the one who took out the gang leader, and the one who went to San Francisco and fell in love with Katy? Shang-Chi got caught by Wenwu during the escape and Xialing and Katy went to Ta Lo alone, fell in love, saved the world, and came back to the compound to tell Shang-Chi all about it? Xialing’s the one who broke away from the battle to confront Wenwu, and ended up dueling him for the Rings – and Katy’s the one who rescues her by riding the dragon!
• Katy falls in love with an Eternal while trying to help Shang-Chi get a date with his massive crush Kingo.
• Xialing falls in love with a Black Widow who’s joined the Ten Rings.

But SERIOUSLY, these are all just some ideas (I could come up with 500 more but I don’t want to scare you), and I really do mean it when I say that as long as it fits my tonal preferences, I am totally up for any story or art about one of these ships! Surprise me!!

Fandom 4:Crossovers
My Requested Ships: Padmé Amidala (SWPT)/Thirteenth Doctor (Doctor Who), Yasmin Khan (Doctor Who)/Rey (SWST)

I nominated neither one of these ships, but when I saw them in the tagset I fell in love!

All of these four characters are fantastic. Whether you want to bring a Star Wars character into the Doctor Who universe, or vice versa – or put both pairings in one fic, which is totally cool! – I would be happy either way.

Feel free to just have the shipped characters in a fic, or to broaden the story and include background characters as friends/antagonists/etc. For Doctor Who, I particularly love River, Missy, Martha, and Bill, and for Star Wars I particularly love Obi-Wan, Leia, Finn, and Poe.

I personally don’t ship Rey/Kylo – I have always been a “Rey is a lesbian and/or asexual” person - so please don’t have a lot of backstory about Rey/Kylo, if writing about Rey. Similarly, I’d rather have a story set before Padmé’s relationship with Anakin or in an AU where they don’t get together (except for specific prompts below).

Some specific prompts:

• Senator Amidala is still pretty new on the job when she meets an interesting new friend. Why is The Doctor on Coruscant? How can she help Padmé solve the political tangle she’s in, and perhaps do a spot of flirting along the way?
• Padmé is on a diplomatic expedition as part of a Senatorial committee on an outlying planet, when she runs into the Daleks! And an interesting blue box with an even more interesting inhabitant…
• Padmé survives and goes on the run with Luke and Leia. The Doctor comes along and scoops them up, and Luke and Leia are raised with two moms on the TARDIS.
• Padmé is trying to escape Vader’s search, and accidentally falls through a portal. She meets the Doctor, who tries to help her get back home. But will Padmé lose her heart along the way? (And what happens when they find the Star Wars universe again, but it’s after Episode VI – timey-wimey! – and Padmé’s kids are all grown up?)
• Padmé is kidnapped by a Doctor Who villain (Missy?) and taken to another planet. The Doctor rescues her, and they go on a canon-style adventure together, flirting like crazy all the way.
• While looking for Ahch-To, Rey takes a wrong turn and ends up on a strange planet with (Doctor Who antagonist). But the Doctor and Yasmin show up, and Rey feels an uncanny pull towards Yasmin…
• Yasmin and the Doctor land on a new planet, far in the future. There they find the aftermath of Rise of Skywalker, with newlyweds Finn & Poe trying to rebuild, and Rey dealing with her complex feelings about the Jedi & Sith. Can Yasmin help her reconcile her conflicting emotions? (With or without scary Doctor Who antagonists to battle.)
• The Doctor shows up on Ahch-To just after Rey gets there, and somehow both Luke and Rey end up journeying with her and Yasmin in the TARDIS for a while. How do the Doctor & Luke get along, as they watch Rey & Yasmin falling in love?
• Look. Lightsaber fight with a Dalek, protecting the girl you’re falling in love with. Go!

Again, these are only ideas! If you have another idea that fits my tonal preferences - affection, humor, warmth, joy, playfulness, falling in love/being in love, happiness, etc. – then go for it! As long as you don’t hit a DNW, I really won’t mind.

For these ships, I am longing for cute, fun, fluffy romcom-style sweetness. Give me all the affection, humor, warmth, joy, playfulness, falling in love/being in love, and happiness, and I’ll eat it up with a spoon!

My biggest bulletproof like in this particular set of ships is coming-out fic, particularly “coming out as a couple” fic but also the more traditional coming-out fic (if the actress in question wasn’t out already). I love media reactions, social media snippets, non-typical formats, “behind the scenes” style fic, tabloids that are getting everything very wrong, Hollywood/a film set as the world’s glitziest but also oddly typical workplace, etc etc.

For films set in a ‘cinematic universe,’ the one I’m most familiar with is the MCU and I love superhero films, so the MCU (with fake films) or an expy version of the MCU would be a great choice! But I’d also be super into universes based on Star Wars, Star Trek, LOTR, or a totally made up cinematic universe. As long as there are individual movies with different leads, coming together to form a bigger whole, I’m good! I enjoy the dynamics involved there. :) I would particularly enjoy a big team-up movie (like an Endgame-style movie), where the actresses are flirting on set like crazy. Do people realize they’re actually together? Think they’re joking? Post tongue-in-cheek cuddly set pictures on social media, but flip out in surprise when the actresses actually end up being a couple?

For actresses in love with their best friends, I love the juxtaposition between the actress’s crazy work life and the grounding, funny, steady, rock-solid friendship she has with her best friend. What happens to make them realize that they’re more than friends, though??! And/or how is that brave & scary confession finally made?

For the Oscars, kissing on stage at the Oscars and shocking the whole world – or proposing, or thanking them by name in an acceptance speech, or casually name-dropping them in an interview afterwards, or showing up on the red carpet as a couple – will always be catnip to me. I love the glitz and glam of the Oscars, and combine that with the “coming out as a couple” love and I will be putty in your hands!
